Indonesia will import a beef from Brazil by perform an examination and strict supervision. So far, a number of parties has reject the government's policy to import a beef from Brazil because this country had been affected by outbreaks of mouth and nail disease. But now, Brazil is free of mouth and nail disease also more than 100 countries has import high-quality of beef from this country. Australia and New Zealand which export beef to Indonesia also imported from Brazil.
Indonesia continue to develop and enhance the technology of cows, so it can reduce the beef import. Agreement of cooperation research and development is also done with Brazil last wee during a visit by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Port of entry point is limited, i.e only the Tanjung Priok and Tanjung Perak, for easy to control. In addition, there will still control as usual on agricultural commodities and livestock imports.
